Description

F10 Germicidal Barrier Ointment is a multi-purpose, broad-spectrum antiseptic preparation effective against bacteria, fungi, and viruses for use on a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, birds, and reptiles. It is designed to treat open or contaminated wounds, skin infections like ringworm and “hot spots”, and to act as a protective barrier against further infection.

Key Product Details & Benefits
  • Broad-Spectrum Action: The ointment’s antimicrobial action is based on the proprietary F10 compound (a mixture of quaternary ammonium and biguanide compounds), which effectively kills a wide range of harmful microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and their spores.
  • Protective Barrier: It contains emollients like lanolin and glycerine which help the ointment adhere to the skin, maintain skin viability, and form an effective, long-lasting antimicrobial barrier.
  • Healing Support: By protecting the wound from infection, the ointment allows the body’s natural healing processes to occur and helps regenerate healthy tissue.
  • Versatile Use: The ointment can be used for various applications, from minor abrasions and burns to deep penetrating wounds, abscesses, and specific conditions like scale and shell rot in reptiles.
  • Safe: It is safe for use on any species of animal when used as directed.
Application Instructions
Before applying the ointment, clean the wound by removing debris and using an appropriate irrigating solution, such as a diluted F10 Antiseptic Solution. Apply a layer of the F10 Germicidal Barrier Ointment to the entire wound area once daily or as directed by a veterinarian, packing it into deep wounds if necessary. Reapplication is needed if the animal gets wet, as the product is water-soluble. For recurring or severe issues, use the ointment as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, potentially including antibiotics, under veterinary guidance.
