Hitet 120 (active ingredient: oxytetracycline hydrochloride 120 mg/ml) is a short-acting, broad-spectrum injectable antibiotic for cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections and tick-borne diseases in livestock.

Product Details & Uses
Hitet 120 is an injectable solution used for the treatment of various conditions: 
  • Tick-borne Gallsickness (Anaplasmosis): A common tick-borne disease in cattle.
  • Heartwater: Another significant tick-borne disease affecting cattle, sheep, and goats.
  • Footrot: A bacterial infection causing lameness, especially in sheep and cattle.
  • Navel-ill & Joint-ill: Infections in newborn animals that can cause severe joint problems and systemic illness.
  • Pneumonia: Respiratory tract infections in livestock.
  • Strangles: A highly contagious upper respiratory tract infection in horses. 
Administration and Dosage
  • Route: Hitet 120 can be administered via intramuscular or intravenous injection.
  • Intramuscular Injection Sites: When administered intramuscularly, no more than 25 ml should be injected into a single site.
  • Intravenous Injection: Intravenous injections should be administered slowly.
  • General Dosage: The general recommended dose is 2 ml per 30 kg of body weight, repeated daily as required. Specific dosages for various conditions are provided in a chart format on the product label. 
Warnings and Precautions
  • Animal Use Only: This product is for animal use only and must be kept out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
  • Withdrawal Periods:
    • Meat: Animals cannot be slaughtered for human consumption within seven days of the last treatment.
    • Milk: Milk from treated cows must not be used for human consumption within 48 hours of treatment.
  • Side Reactions: If unusual side reactions occur, discontinue use immediately and seek veterinary advice.
  • Veterinary Consultation: It is recommended to consult a veterinarian for the correct diagnosis and treatment plan for specific conditions.
